Plans are moving forward quickly for the Crawdad Festival to be held Father’s Day Weekend, June 18, 19 & 20th at the Tehama District Fair Grounds in Red Bluff and Presented by R Wild Horse and it is sure to be a fabulous event!
Music will include St. Gabriel’s Celestial Brass Band, Mark St. Mary & The Louisiana Blues & Zydeco Band, The Bayou Boys, The Cajun @ Zydeco All Stars, The Blues Box Bayou Band and Bonne Musique Zydeco. Lessons will be provided for those who want to learn the Cajun and Zydeco steps.
Events will include Family night on Friday with children 12 and under free the official grand opening and the celebrity eating contest. Saturday will feature crawdad races, dance contest, and crawdad eating contest. On Sunday they are adding a Father’s Day drawing for fantastic gifts for dad. All three days offer traditional Cajun Cuisine, Cajun and Zydeco Music, dancing and as always lagniappe (something extra)
The R Wild Horse Ranch Festival Committee just returned from the annual pilgrimage to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, home of the Crawfish Festival, to help celebrate their 50th year. For us in California, it’s our 25th anniversary!

- The R Wild Horse Ranch Crawdad Festival will become one of the largest gatherings of famous Cajun and Zydeco musicians with two stages of music during the 3-day festival. Music will fill the air from morning into night.

Carnival Midway
- Enjoy rides and games for all ages at the carnival, located inside the Tehama District Fair Grounds.
Contests
- Crawdad Eating Contest: This contest is measured by the weight of boiled crawdads consumed within thirty (30) minutes. Contestants must display dexterity in obtaining the meat from the crawfish as well as a healthy appetite. The crawdad eating contest is held at the Kerstiens Entertainment Center.
